Interested in Joining our Ladies Team?

Warley Rugby FC is on the lookout for women who are willing to try something different, make new friends and give the guys a run for their money on the rugby pitch.

The Oldbury based club started a women’s rugby team just over a year ago, but is in need of more ladies who are interested in taking up the sport.

Any age, ability, shape or size can play rugby with complete beginners just as welcome as players with experience. The training sessions are free and run by Karl Blick, RFU community Rugby Coach for Sandwell.

Karl says: “If you're interested in playing, it's never too late to learn. We'll teach you everything you need to know in the friendly environment of our club.

“It’s a great time to try out the sport and as rugby provides a full body work out it is a brilliant calorie burning form of exercise.”

Ladies aged 14 or over are needed for the new women’s side, with the club also encouraging younger girls to go along to training and develop their skills.

Warley RFC pride themselves on the welcoming environment they offer players and their families. Warley has gained its RFU club mark seal of approval and has extensively developed its youth coaching programmes in recent years. The women’s team will build on the success of this programme and accommodate all who wish to take part.

WRFC will meet every Sunday at 2pm and Wednesday at 7pm in the clubhouse on Tat Bank Road, Oldbury.
